Vemos como en nuestras vidas encontramos cada vez menos momentos para hacer una pausa, que nos permita tomar cierta distancia para poder ver y analizar el conjunto, el abigarrado entramado del que formamos parte; para reflexionar y tratar de entender el complejo mundo en el que vivimos.

La publicación constante de la novedad, de lo que ocurrió recién, la imagen de lo cotidiano, ocupan tiempos y espacios, en los que se mezclan permanente y promiscuamente cuestiones muy diversas, que van desde lo más grave a los más superfluo.

Los estímulos permanentes de la comunicación tecnológica captan nuestra atención y tienden a ocupar todo el tiempo disponible, dificultando el pensamiento crítico.

 El binarismo (que es el lenguaje de la tecnología) simplifica y posibilita resultados tan admirables como preocupantes, la “inteligencia artificial” no puede, ni debe desplazar el pensamiento humano, que no puede ser reducido a términos binarios.

La potencia de lo binario está en la velocidad y (en principio) en la exactitud de sus resultados. El sistema binario implica una reducción de todo, absolutamente todo a dos elementos.

El complejo mundo de lo humano no admite esa reducción.

El desenfrenado ritmo de la tecnología -de lo binario- conduce a la pérdida de la visión de conjunto; inmersos en el detalle, en lo cotidiano, en lo fugaz, en la noticia, en las formas y lógicas del presente perpetuo, perdemos perspectiva, que requiere de distancia.

La pérdida de la visión de conjunto dificulta una lectura histórica de nuestro propio tiempo, resulta cada vez más difícil reflexionar sobre nuestro pasado, pensar críticamente y considerar nuestro tiempo como el tiempo histórico; y fundamentalmente nos mantiene permanentemente ocupados en un presente perpetuo que nos obstruye la posibilidad de pensar, imaginar, proyectar y construir un futuro diferente, un futuro mejor.

The permanent stimuli of technological communication capture our attention and tend to occupy all available time, making critical thinking difficult.

Binarism (which is the language of technology) simplifies and makes possible results that are as admirable as they are worrying, "artificial intelligence" cannot and should not displace human thought, which cannot be reduced to binary terms.

The power of binary lies in the speed and (in principle) the accuracy of its results. The binary system implies a reduction of everything, absolutely everything to two elements.

The complex world of the human does not admit such a reduction.

The unbridled rhythm of technology -of the binary- leads to the loss of the vision of the whole; immersed in detail, in the everyday, in the fleeting, in the news, in the forms and logics of the perpetual present, we lose perspective, which requires distance.

The loss of an overall vision makes it difficult to read our own time historically; it is increasingly difficult to reflect on our past, to think critically and to consider our time as historical time; and fundamentally, it keeps us permanently occupied in a perpetual present that obstructs us from thinking, imagining, projecting and building a different future, a better future.
